Christmas is coming! YAY!

Hey guys! I wanted to drop in and let everyone know Maddalena is doing wonderful lately. She has really taken off with the walking and despite her little fall she had, she really has been kicking booty. She is in the intensive portion of the research study she is in, so she is in therapies Monday-Friday. She def. keeps this mama very busy! She will be following up with her physical rehab medicine doctor here soon and there has been talk about possible botox trials for her lower extremities, but we will see what her doctor says. I’ve really wanted to avoid botox, but if it helps, I’ll try it.

We went to visit my old job last week and she had a blast walking all over the facility with her cute purple walker and of course all my old patients absolutely adored her. She got a few chocolates and a big cookie from one of my favorite patients. She loved it! You know babies brighten the geriatric populations lives so it was nice that we could pop in for a few hours! Right now in therapies we are really focusing on walking, her balance, crawling with that reciprocal motion and feeding skills. As a geriatric therapist myself, I really am slowly becoming the pediatric therapist I thought I’d NEVER be. (My therapy friends know….I am NO pediatric therapist! LOL!) Other than therapies going well, nothing really new to report!

We are getting ready for the holidays which we will be spending with my family in South Florida! Maddalena really is going to enjoy this Christmas since her cognition and personality has really taken off in the last year. I can’t wait to see her open all her gifts, because lord knows my family absolutely spoils her during the holidays. For what she has gone through though, I’d say she deserves it 100%. I’ll def. have lots of Christmas pics and videos to share after the holidays.

For now, I am going to get some rest before she wakes up from her nap. She’s been battling a really bad cold the last few days and mama and daddy are exhausted! See ya all later and thanks for all the love and support as always!

OH and PS. Here’s a little intro video to our website/blog that I put together for YouTube! Tell me whatcha think!
